Interval Training Burns Calories

Interval Training Burns Calories

Interval Training Burns Calories

Interval training is the most effective way to burn calories. With short bursts of intense exercise you burn more calories quickly and make your heart stronger/more efficient than doing longer bouts of steady cardio. Your heart is challenged to become more efficient as this type of training will spike your heart rate higher and force it to recover quicker to do the next set of intervals.

When you combine this with a good meal plan and track the intensity of your workouts you can shred weight quickly. Plus interval training will make your workouts more interesting. With 30 to 60 seconds of work you get to put forth your maximal effort for a short period of time. Then you get to rest. It becomes easier to maintain interest in this type of workout as you don’t have to focus or concentrate on the workout for such long periods of time.

Doing steady, longer cardio sessions or weight training are both great for your health. They will help you stay in shape and maintain your strength. However, if you are looking for the best and quickest way to lose weight and burn calories then interval training wins hands down!

Stop weight gain during the holidays

Stop Weight Gain

Stop Weight Gain via ppurgedschneider

In order to stop weight gain during the Christmas holidays we need to focus on a few things. The holidays tend to be a time when we are busier and tend to eat more food than normal. This means we workout less and eat more calories. This of course is a bad combination as we have two things working against us.

To stop weight gain during the holidays we suggest scheduling your workouts during your day like you would schedule other meetings or appointments. This will ensure you stick to your workouts. Also since most of you have less time to work out we suggest you try interval training during your workouts. Interval training involves short bursts of intense exercise and this will burn more calories than steady exercise. This means you don’t have to work out as long as normal to burn the same number of calories.

We also suggest you keep track of your eating so you know how many extra calories you are eating. Remember that one pound is 3500 calories so for every 3500 extra calories you eat above and beyond your norm you can expect to gain a pound of weight. This is not very difficult to do especially given the high calories most Christmas goodies have in them.

Our Cardio Blast Ultimate Athletic Meal Plan and Cardio Blast Fitness Tracker give you great meal ideas and help you stay on track with your food consumption. For more information please visit www.blog.cardioblast.com.

What does a Cardio Blast Workout look like

A Cardio Blast workout is something unique and different that people need to experience. Recently, Alex K took 6 of his participants and invited them out for a Cardio Blast workout training session. He took the drills from one workout of Cardio Blast and put these girls through the ringer. There was no slacking off here. They had to do all of the drills to their full effort with the extra benefit of having Alex motivating and pushing them throughout the workout.

ETS Beach Body Winner Lost 21lbs in 12 Weeks!

ETS Beach Body Winner

ETS Beach Body Winner

When ETS Beach Body Winner Michelle Kask won our contest she had a goal of losing 15lbs in 12 weeks. Not only did she achieve that, she lost even more. Her prize was 4 weeks of personal training, 4 weeks of Cardio Blast videos and then 4 weeks of training with Alex K doing his own workouts. Here is what she had to say about the experience. Congrats Michelle!

“Panic would describe how I felt when Alex K called to tell me I was the ETS Beach Body Winner. But once I accepted the challenge I was determined to succeed. After years of on again off again diets I was set to do it right this time ! With Alex guiding me how could I go wrong?

Starting weight: 186. 2 pounds Week 1-4 :
I had stuck around this weight for the past 2 years. Starvation, exhaustion, ready to abandon this whole silly contest – I persevered. My first work out with Alex K was intense. Since he had no one else to focus on except me, I crawled out of the first session feeling proud at what I had accomplished. With his encouragement and my determination I had made it through my first workout ! Every week Alex K changed the workout, with the variety who could get bored?!
End of Week 4 Weigh in: 176.8

Week 5-8: What do you mean I have to stay on track with my eating? Alex K encouraged me to stay on track with my eating every day. Keeping a food journal and having to show it to him helped me stay on track. If I did stray I could see the difference on how I felt.
These 4 weeks I used the Cardio Blast videos. Encouraged to exercise daily I used the videos 3 times a week. Having Alex K in my living room even on the TV I had an incredible work out using these video???s. I really liked how you could adapt it to any fitness level.
End of week 8 weigh in: 171.6

Week 9-12: The four most challenging weeks to stay focused and on track! The last four weeks I did Alex K???s workouts with him. Again he was great with his variety in workouts which kept me on my toes. I never thought I could work out along side my personal trainer. It was fun making him sweat too!!

I lost a total of 21 pounds in the 12 weeks !! My goal at the beginning was 15 pounds. Thanks Alex K!!”
